Bhoothnath Returns

Trailer hit, toh picture hit, aur gaana hit toh picture superhit” Bhoothnath returns directed by Nitesh Tiwari, a juvinile, intellectual delight of 2 hours 35 mins in colour. Written by Piyush Gupta and Nitesh Tiwari, Shreyas Jain and Nikhil Mehrotra (additional script writer). The movie is a sequel of the movie Bhoothnath released in 2008. The expectations were high but it is generally difficult for a sequel to live upto it,nay to say for Bhoothnath returns it has par excelled the original movie.

Elections circus ki tarah hote hai. Yahan par joker sirf timepass ke liye hota hai. Ticket kharidi jaati hai sher ko dekhne ke liye” This movie has the perfect timing of launch, with election year it does make sense to release a movie with a message. The star cast is actually huge with their brief but apt roles with an impact to be made. The star himself Amitabh Bachhan as bhoothnath, Parth Bhalerao as Akhrot, Boman Irani as Politician in the lead. To add flavours we saw Ranbir Kapoor, Shahruk Khan, Kurush Deboo, Sanjay Mishra, Anurag Kashyap. The production house for still a long list of actors in the movie are B.R. Films and T series.

The film is shot in three locations majorly Film City Mumbai, Margam Castle, Margam, Wales, UK and Castle Combe, Wiltshire, England, UK. The interesting point is that Margam Castle is also famous for being haunted, it has featured in Series ‘Most haunted’ in 2006 and ‘SyFy’s Ghost Hunters International’ in 2010. Though nothing is heard of; if for any cast or crew had a problem shooting there. Anyway “Bhoot ka kaam problem ko solve karna nahi hota, problem badana hota”

I personally believe that movies are the reflection of the society and Bhoothnath returns, has been able to put forward as the most humorous drama; of the current situation of the country and explains the issue in the simplest ways. “Tu mujhe dekh sakta hai? Aankhen hai, Gulab Jamun nahi” The story continues, wherein Bhoothnath returns to Bhooth world where he has been ridiculed for his inability to scare a child. To overcome his embarrassment he is sent back to Earth. He is again; confronted with the technical error and meets Akhrot.

The movie starts rolling in. Finding a gap in the legal issues, Bhoothnath stands for fighting the Lok Sabha elections against Bhau (Boman Irani). The movie takes a complete turn with politics coming in the play and “Bhau aapke khilaf Bhoot ne parcha bhara hai”. There are 5 Songs in the movie, Party to Banti hai sung by Mika Singh, Har Har Gange music by Ram Sampath, Sahib lyrics by Munna Dhiman , Dharavi rap lyrics by Nitesh Tiwari and Party with Bhoothnath performed, music and lyrics by Yo Yo Honey Singh. Just in case you wondering about the steps in songs, well it has been choreographed by none other than Ganesh Acharya. The direction is apt and songs are well aptly placed. All in all a must watch family movie. Has a message and has a point and whoever doesn’t has a voter’s ID card “Sunnai nahi Deta”

Is desh ki population ke mann ke undar sirf frustration hai, System ki is constipation se bahar yeh situation hai ki har jagah saturation hai, Right to information hai lekin uspar objection hai, Police ke pass power hai par uska bhi limitation hai, jiske pass designation hai, uske pass intension nahi, aur jiske pass suggestion hai uske pass position nahi, aur Aise mein janta kya karegi yeh mera question hai.”
